Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy sets out how ‘Mariner Partners Inc.’ (Mariner, the builder of WaveGuide). App will collect, secure, use and disclose your personal information when using the App personal information can include sensitive user data such as personally identifiable information, financial and payment information, authentication information, phonebook, contacts SMS and call related data, microphone and camera sensor data, and sensitive device or usage data. If you choose to use the App, then you agree to Mariner collecting, securing, using and disclosing your information in relation to this Privacy Policy and for the purposes of providing and improving the App. Mariner will not use or share your personal information with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Collection: Mariner will limit its collection of your data to purposes directly related to providing and improving the features of the App. For instance, Mariner may collect and store the following information when running the App:

a. Log Data. Whenever you use the App, in a case of an error in the App, Mariner collects data and information (through third party products) called Log Data. This Log Data may include information such as your device Internet Protocol address, device name, operating system version, the configuration, time and day of the App when in use and other statistics.

b. Cookies. Cookies are files with a small amount of data that are commonly used as anonymous unique identifiers. These are sent to your browser from the websites that you visit and are stored on your device’s internal memory. The App does not use cookies explicitly. However, the App may use third party code and libraries that use cookies to collect information and improve the App. You have the option to either accept or refuse these cookies and know when a cookie is being sent to your device. If you choose to refuse our cookies, you may not be able to use some portions of the App.

c. Registration Code. The registration code is used to determine specific settings to configure the App and to ensure you are a valid user.

d. Technician ID. Mariner collects a technician ID at registration allowing information obtained during the use of WaveGuide to be associated to the proper technician.

e. Camera. Camera permission is required to scan barcodes. Without camera permissions, this feature will not work. We do not access your image gallery or upload or store any pictures during the barcode scanning process.

f. Location. Location is required to obtain a list of in-range Wi-Fi networks.

g. Wi-Fi Settings. We need to be able to connect and disconnect Wi-Fi networks from within the App. As such, the App must be aware of the Wi-Fi network SSID, BSSID and the password.

h. Wi-Fi Connections. Wi-Fi connections that are in-range are used to show the graphical view of neighboring Wi-Fi networks; including, Wi-Fi channel frequency and signal strength.

 

2. Security: Data gathered by the App will be sent to an application server, which may be hosted, or customer provided. Transmissions between the App and server are done using modern cryptography secured by SSL (HTTPS) protocol.

3. Use: Mariner will limit its use of your data to purposes directly related to providing and improving the features of the App.The uses include:

a. Gateway Serial Number. The gateway serial number is stored along with the work order information collected during the use of the This allows Mariner to link the information from the App to its system and determine if the App is used on specific work orders.

b. Wi-Fi Network Information. Information such as signal strength, upload speed, download speed, latency, and security mode settings are uploaded and stored to Mariner secure server. This information is used to validate that specific quality standards are achieved on each installation regarding the Wi-Fi service. Mariner does not save any password for Wi-Fi networks entered in the App anywhere outside the Any network passwords entered in the App are cleared from the App when: (i) the App is closed from your recent applications list; (ii) a work order is submitted to the server; or, (iii) when a work order is force closed.

Mariner may employ third-parties to use your information to:

a. facilitate the App;

b. provide the App on our behalf;

c. perform App-related services; or,

d. assist us in analyzing how the App is used.

These third parties may have access to your personal information; however, they are obligated not to disclose or use your information for any other purpose.  

4. Disclose: Mariner will never:

a. Share your personal data except in accordance with this Privacy Policy;

b. Use your personal data for any purpose not set out in this Privacy Policy;

c. Rent your personal data;

d. Sell your data to 3rd parties; or,

e. Use your data for marketing purposes.

Links to Other Sites: The App may contain links to other sites. If you click on a third-party link, you will be directed to that site. Note that these external sites are not operated by Mariner. Therefore, Mariner strongly advises you to review the Privacy Policy of these websites. Mariner has no control over, and assumes no responsibility for, the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services.
